Xiao: reviewing life with food

As a former journalist and presenter for China Central Television (CCTV) and China National Radio (CNR), Xiao has worked for 8 years in agriculture, culture, science, and education channels and has hosted dozens of amazing programs about food.

Now she lives in Switzerland, Thun, where she is a PhD researcher in sociology at the University of Geneva in the fields of food history, culture, and ethnography.

As a food writer and reviewer, she has written thousands of food-related cultural essays and restaurant reviews. Meanwhile, she is also a meditation guider and coach of Mindful Eating and cooking in China, where she has guided many people to get to know themselves and complete their physical and mental healing through food in their everyday life.

Finally, she is chef privée, offering culinary experiences in China and Switzerland. In her cooking, clients enjoy a fusion of East and West that is tailored to their tastes and well-being, that reflects the original flavours of the food, that touches the eye and the ear, that heals the body and the mind, and that appreciates the ancient cultures and wisdoms that are embedded in the cuisine.
